Ethical and Environmental Information
Remploy's commitment to ethical business
As part of Remploy we not only employ disabled people, we also ensure that everything we do lives up to the highest ethical and environmental standards.
Our manufacturing processes comply with all the necessary government legislation. We are also proud to have been awarded the international environmental standard ISO 14001, the international quality management standard ISO 9001:2000 as well as OHSAS 18001 which was developed to facilitate the integration of quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems. And, we are certified under the Energy Efficiency Accreditation Scheme.
All the timber we use to manufacture our furniture comes from renewable farmed sources. Through the PEFC Council (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) we are assured the wood we purchase originates from sustainably managed forests. As a result, the products we manufacture are certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council.
We also work with major industry trade associations such as the Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) and the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA).
